Amazon Verifies Sellers Business Address By Sending Postcards

To verify your business address, Amazon sends postcards to the registered address to check whether the given addresses are accurate and authentic.
To provide a safe and trustworthy shopping experience for Amazon customers, Amazon is making this process mandatory for existing sellers of Amazon USA.
AMAZON'S STATEMENT ON ADDRESS VERIFICATION:
“As part of our commitment to provide a safe and trustworthy shopping experience for our customers and selling partners, we need to verify the business address displayed on your Amazon.com seller profile page,” the email says, adding that merchants won’t be prevented from selling on the platform while their address is being verified.
Amazon confirmed to CNBC that it began testing the initiative with new sellers last year, then started including some existing sellers at the beginning of this year.
HOW THE ADDRESS VERIFICATION PROCESS WORKS ON AMAZON?
First, Amazon will contact a seller informing them that the company needs to verify their business address.
You've to review and confirm your business address on Seller Central.
Steps to confirm your Business Address:
1. log in to your Amazon seller account.
2. In Seller Central, go to the Settings menu and select Account Info to view your Seller Account Information page.
3. In the Business Information section, select the Business Address page. Update your business address if it is not correct and then click Confirm Address once the information shown is correct.
4. After you click Confirm Address, Amazon will send a postcard containing a verification code to that address.
Most postcards are delivered in 5-7 business days. You have to enter the verification code in Seller Central within 60 days.
Amazon says, If you fail to do so, it can withhold funds from sellers’ accounts. Amazon will block any accounts that prove to have an illegitimate address.
And if you lost the postcard in the mail, Amazon will allow you to request a new one to be sent to their address.
If you do not verify your address within 60 days, future disbursements will be held in your seller account until your address has been verified.
