To provide a great shopping experience, Amazon is implementing selling qualifications for some products in the Music and DVD categories that might have a higher risk of authenticity issues.

Some products in the Music and DVD categories are restricted, while others require an application to sell.

Let's first take a look at the requirements to sell musical instrument products on Amazon.

You must meet the following requirements before listing Musical Instruments products not originally intended for sale in the U.S.:

Amazon assumes that all products sold in the Musical Instruments category on are originally intended for sale in the U.S.

So, it's your responsibility to identify international Musical Instruments products by adding the following phrases to the product titles of all such items as applicable based on whether or not the international product is covered by a warranty:

  • International Version (No Warranty)

You must disclose the warranty type (whether it is a manufacturer's warranty or their warranty) for each international Musical Instruments product that you list.

All Musical Instruments products must comply with condition guidelines, both the general guidelines and those for the Musical Instruments category.

For international Musical Instruments products that are without warranties, an item may be listed as "New" if it meets the following requirements:

  • The title and the listing comments clearly state that the product is not eligible for the manufacturer's full U.S. warranty.

  • The listing otherwise complies with all of the condition guidelines for a "New" Musical Instruments product.

International versions should support English as a language option and include step-by-step instructions in English on how to change language settings.

All international Musical Instruments products must have a U.S.-compatible power plug, if applicable.

All international Musical Instruments products must meet North America product safety standards. With limited exceptions, UPCs are required for all major brand products in the Musical Instruments category.
